The Australian Wool Education Trust (AWET) supports undergraduate sheep and wool scholarships to students across all universities that offer agricultural studies. The scholarship is aimed at enabling students to access specialised training in sheep and wool.
The scholarships are jointly funded by AWET, and industry bodies and/or companies sourced by University of New England. They may be available to first-, second- and third-year students, selected by UNE. The scholarship stipend is valued at $6000/year. The industry sponsors are requested to provide a period of work experience.
The successful student must show a passion for the sheep and wool industry and aspire to build a career in the industry. They will be required to complete at least two sheep and wool subjects offered by UNE.
